Had so much fun shooting photos with Shefali! Make sure to check out her website here! She's available for engagements, weddings or any other special occasion :)

The second show I got to attend was Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva's show. I think the best part of this show besides the delicious collection was the music! Wish I could share it here.

Now, how am I going to get tickets to next year's NYFW? anyone?

CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund

Attended my first NY Fashion Week! First on the lineup was the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund runway show. The show featured absolutely amazing pieces from designers like Prabal Gurung to Marchesa (my obsession) to Proenza Schouler. love.

Face it

Ever wanted that fresh-faced neutrogena commercial worthy skin like the doe-eyed Kristen Kreuk?

Welp, the magical solution isn't neutrogena, it's actually Aveeno.

Aveeno's skin brightening scrub does exactly as it should: brightens, smooths and refreshes your sensitive facial skin. And for me, its worked as a great acne preventative option.

Its best used during your showers, and right before you go to sleep. I have used this product for a few years now, and wouldn't think of using anything else!

Vintage Belts

Outfit 3
Banana Republic Knitted Vest & Collared Blouse
Belt from Vintage store in Vancouver - $22!!

My latest obsession is belts, of the vintage variety that is. They are cheap, unique and can add that little extra twist to your outfit. If you don't have any vintage stores in your area (as this belt is from Vancouver) try Good Will....

Check out these other belts from some of my favorite bloggers (In order): Karlascloset, 9to5chic, Thedaybook. Vote for your favorite look!

Marc Fisher Suede Booties (It was a steal!)
H&M Knit Sweater (Wear it all the time)
Banana Republic Skinnies
Vintage Louis Vuitton Cross Body (ebay? Anyone?)

Lesson Learned: Brown is a hard color to wear, especially in shoes, which is why I always stray towards warmer caramel/camel tones!

Watches, just go get one.

Watches are timeless, pun-intended. Just, do it.

Happy Skin, happy hair, happy me: secrets

The secret to divinely soft skin:
  • Exfoliation glove
  • Olive oil or Almond oil
  • Lubriderm's Advanced Therapy Lotion
During your shower, exfoliate your skin using an exfoliation glove & your favorite body wash (I recommend Dove's deep moisture body wash, or Dove's in-shower lotion). Afterwards, and at least once a week, massage almond or olive oil into your skin. Otherwise, simply, and always moisturize your body with Lubriderm's Advanced Therapy Lotion -- its unreal.

The secret to lusciously, shiny & bouncy hair:
  • Himalaya Coconut Oil
For those of you especially with curly, frizzy hair -- ditch the conditioner every once in a while, and opt for coconut oil. At least once or twice a week (not recommended for those with naturally very oily hair), simply put coconut oil in your hair for at least 30 minutes prior to your shower, and simply wash out with your favorite shampoo. Unlike oil, conditioners and shampoos leave heavy build-up in your hair that will make it look limp and lifeless after excessive use. Coconut oil, is an age old indian secret :)

What are your skin & and hair healthy secrets?

Sleeping Beauty?

"My daughter asked me, why is the sleeping beauty so beautiful? Is it because she sleeps a lot?" Axelsson recalled. "As a scientist, I couldn't answer, so I had to do a study."
For those of us who aren't always able to get that restful night's sleep.

Cozy up:
  • Make sure your bed, is only for sleep. Using it for other activities like surfing the internet will not easily enable your body to recognize your bed as bedtime.
  • Keep your room cool and let yourself "hibernate"
  • Make sure your pillow & mattress is suitable for your body -- flat, plush, airy etc

Prepare, prepare, prepare:
  • Stop drinking caffeine at least 8 hours before you sleep
  • Avoid napping (or at least no longer than 20-25 min)
  • Refrain from eating four house before you sleep (that' a tough one...)
  • TRY not to use your computer before you sleep, turn it off 1 hour before you sleep.
I tried this, and it makes a WORLD of a difference.

Morning sunshine:
  • Let some daylight in in the morning, it will help set your internal sleep clock!

The Golden Rule:
Go to sleep & wake up at the same time everyday.

Hmmm, anyone have an alternate solution for that one?
